Femininity (also called girlishness, womanliness, or womanhood) is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with girls and women. Femininity is partially socially constructed, being made up of both socially-defined and biologically-created factors.

What makes a woman, a woman? Her smile, her touch, her grace? Her strength, her passion, her mindset? Perhaps the way her muscles flex when stretching or her baby-carrying hips? The dark rooted hair that carries from her head to her arms to her toes, and everywhere in between. The subtleties of a woman are, but are not limited to, her energy, her whit, and her ambition.

Who's to say how and on whom that should look? Who's to say that it should translate purely to the image of a traditional woman with long legs, a tiny waist, and a groomed body; but actually fun fact, it's not so 'traditional'. Grooming one's arm pits and legs is a trend which only stems from the ~20's. It's a hundred year old idea, in a two hundred thousand year old society that's defined women*.

Femininity is a partially socially constructed idea, meaning we define it as much as it defines us. It is our responsibility to take that idea and transform it respectively. Femininity is not necessarily effeminate anymore. People are changing, we are changing; and with it our mannerisms, constructs & lifestyles.

*Modern form of humans evolved about 200,000 years ago, where as ancestral mankind stems from 6 million years ago.
